Fan Classes
By MarileaP
Across the us DBZ is becoming increasingly
more popular, my school is no exception. DBZ is quickly
becoming a phenomenon due to Cartoon Network and the
like. 6th, 7th and 8th graders will often brag about
how much they know about DBZ and how big of fans they
are. When I give them some simple inquiries they are
stumped. This is why I and two other of my friends,
respectively Incubuskorn and FreizaF4, developed the
class system.
Class 1- this contains the misguided children who do
not know that DBZ is Japanese and think that the only
storyline is the storyline that has been dubbed. They
nothing of the series beyond the dubbed version. This
is pretty low.
Class 2- these are people who are aware that DBZ is
Japanese and that there is storyline after the dubbed
version but have no imagination and are still under
the impression that the dubbed version is completely
honest and nothing is changed. They will go on-line
and try to impress cultured anime fans. Example: "Hey
Alan, wasn't it cool when Gohan did the fusion dance
with 5-year old Trunks !?!" Correction: "Um..dude.
That was Goten, Gokus other son. By that time Gohan
was in high school. And Trunks was 8. Note: still thinks
DBZ is a cartoon
Class 3- There is class 1 and 2 and then there is 3.
Most people like you and I would be between 2 and 3
with the Anime fans. The Criteria for a real anime fan
is you actively rent Animes you haven't seen before
and expand on ones you have so you know what you are
talking about. Class 3 is bad, but at least you are
not clueless. Criteria for Class 3:
1) You own the entire dubbed series either
because you bought them in boxed sets or recorded them
off of TV. This is only criteria if the dubbed episodes
and movies are the only Anime you own.
2) You download the rest of the series via the web or
MIRC because you think the information websites are
lying to you and trying to trick you, or some other
Bizarre reason.
3) You actively (or ever !!) seek out websites containing
the Dragonball hentai, DBX.
4) You have seen more than 96% of the series and still
get characters and storylines mixed up.
5) You spend more than 60% of your income on DBZ merchandise
because you believe it makes you a better fan.
If you are 4 out of 5 of these you qualify
as a class 3
