Hate Mail and the Sub vs. Dub
Issue

Hate mail. What is it exactly? Hate mail is e-mail
people receive on the Internet because someone who happens
to stumble upon their site doesn't like one thing or
another and have to voice their two sense about it in
an unkind way. Hate mail cause anger and for some a
rude revelation by someone. Hate mail even go so far
as to run someone off the face of the cyber world (or
at least in a secluded corner). For example, there is
a fanfic I found a while back called Vegiitisei Ascendant:
An Alternate Universe Dragonball. It was an awesome
fic that could have easily happened in the actual DBZ
series if Vegiitisei was still there and if Raditz survived
the fight. Unfortunately many didn't agree with me.
Many people sent the author hate mail regarding the
content of the story. I guess they never read the warning
at the top, saying it was rated R for such and such.
Anyway to make a long story short, the author put her
story on an 18 and older site and for SOME people (like
me) who aren't 18 yet, can't read the rest of the story.
For all those who sent the author of Vegiitisei Ascendant
hate mail I would like to say shame on you. If you hated
the fic so much, why did you waste your time to e-mail
her? It's funny how so many people can waste their time
trying to defend something they hate. Don't you think
it's pointless? If you don't like it, close the site
and go on with your life; don't sit there and grumble
about it.
I've heard somewhere that fansites like this one get
paid in praise, well here's mine now. I'd like to thank
Meri, Tomo-chan of Tomo-chan's realm of insanity, the
people at Planet Namek and everyone else who have great
sites! You guys use a lot of time an effort to put out
great sites for us to enjoy. THANK YOU!
Okay, I'm done with the hate mail thing and on to another
topic everyone's tired about: subtitled verses dubbed
DBZ. No, I'm not about to say this side is better for
this reason, I'm here to make a statement, so don't
click back just yet. My sister and I were talking about
this particular issue one night and she made a good
point. She said this was like the American Civil War.
The North didn't approve of the Southern way of life,
but the people in the South found nothing wrong with
it. Both sides pressed their points, thinking they were
right and will always be right, so they had a war to
settle the matter. I'm not saying we are going to have
a net war for five years, but doesn't that exactly fit
this issue? Now me, I'm a dub fan, but I have given
subtitled a chance. Each version has it's pros and cons.
Everyone should go and watch the DBZ version you don't
usually watch and watch it with an open mind. It can't
hurt. Even if you don't like it, please keep it to your
self and don't bring it out on the net. You can grumble
all you want to the computer screen and yell all you
want, but please, don't ruin DBZ for the rest of us.
Thank you for taking time out to read this.
Happy DBZ watching!
Just a DBZ fan
