As you know, Dragonball Z has been a great show since
it began with Dragonball. Everything about it, especially
the plot, drew the attention of many Anime fans as well
as non-Anime fans. But if you have watched Dragonball
Z for a long time (or even for a short time), as a fan
you will have noticed that some of the pieces of the
sagas left certain unexplained gaps. In the Raditz and
Vegeta Saga, they stated that four Saiya-jin were left
after the destruction of planet Vegeta: Goku, Raditz,
Nappa, and Vegeta. Is that really true though? Keep
on reading.
As I was saying it first began in the Vegeta saga when
Vegeta himself confirmed that only four Saiya-jin survived
the destruction of Planet Vegeta by Freezer. They dont
completely establish this though, for any Saiya-jin
easily could have colonized on another world long before
the destruction of Vegeta or even have escaped on a
spacepod without anyone knowing, just as Goku did. But
to really support this idea, I have to bring up the
Dragonball Z movies.
In the third DBZ movie, "Earths Ultimate
Deciding Battle", they present yet another antagonist
to add to the giant list, Taurus (Terlus as they call
him in America), another surviving Saiya-jin. Though
they make certain that the audience knows that he is
a Saiya-jin, they do not explain anything about his
origin, including how he remained in existence and how
he looks exactly like Goku. But lets just say
that Taurus is Gokus twin brother, which if true,
avoids using any type of lateral thinking. Suppose that
Taurus was launched to another planet just as Goku was,
then this event justifies my reasonable judgement. In
contrast, there are many other possibilities to Tauruss
origin; therefore almost any other explanation is just
as valid as mine is. Still, this is only one supporting
detail to the main idea. If this isnt enough,
heres another one.
Let me introduce yet another acknowledging idea that
supports my theory, DBZ movie 5, "Breaking the
Limits of the Strongest vs. Strongest". Now, if
youre a smart DBZ fan and know what movie 5 is
about, you might ask, "how does this movie present
any idea that there were more than four surviving Saiya-jin"?
After all, doesnt the beginning of the movie show
the destruction of Planet Vegeta and confirm that no
more than four survived? Although this is well thought
out reasoning, there is also a contradiction to that.
According to one of the first scenes, when Kooler is
on a planet that he made into a lifeless desert, he
says a line that interested me. And I quote, "I
will go to Earth and destroy all the Saiya-jin that
live on it, just as I did to this one". Despite
any reasoning that he may have been talking about destroying
living creatures on the planet where he was at or that
this may have been an incorrect subtitle (which is most
unlikely), there is yet another line that upholds my
thinking. I quote again "This is the end of any
Saiya-jin presence on this planet and in this galaxy".
This quote gives a clue that any surviving Saiya-jin
might have escaped to another galaxy or somehow avoided
extinction. Yet, even this might not be enough for hardcore
fans to swallow, so I will show one more component to
my theory.
Now, I shall refer to the biggest piece of evidence
I have, which is movie 8, "Bring your Spirit to
the Max: the Dangerous Bloody Battle". (Just a
personal note to movie collectors out there, this movie
is one of my absolute favorites!). Anyway, Ill
skip the details and just summarize what this one is
about. They explain that a baby Saiya-jin, Broli, born
with a power level of 10,000 that is almost killed by
King Vegeta, escapes the planet with his father (Paragus)
just as it is exploding thanks to his incredible power.
He later meets Goku once again and fights him, etc.
Basically though, Broli and Paragus are living (later
killed though) evidence that many Saiya-jin did survive
Freezers wrath.
Of course though, If you are a DBZ freak just as I
am, you should know by now that the movies are not a
part of the actual DBZ story line and definitely do
not fit into it, but rather are just made for the enjoyment
of fans. And although I did present the movies as evidence,
I am not saying that any of those characters actually
exist. I only tell you about those things to prove that
any Saiya-jin could have easily survived after Planet
Vegetas Destruction.
