Why the American dub of Dragon Ball Z is good!

Shocked by the title well don’t be I am tired of stupid people saying "oh I hate the American dub of dbz, it sucks " well I have the reason why it "sucks" as you hard-core fans put it. I would have would have put this on a web site I don’t know a thing about web sites. If you get this e-mail, feel free to mail it to an American dub-hating friend.

1.The Main theme (Rock the Dragon)

The song "Rock the Dragon" has been made fun of cause of its lack of words

And the fact it has nothing to do with DBZ well the original song (cha-la-head-cha-la) has more words but the song has nothing to do with DBZ ether! DBZ can not bee summed up in one song so it doesn’t matter if the song has 9 words or 1000 it still conveys no info and still sounds cool.

2. The Voices

Now lots of people have made fun of this especially Freiza's voice (a woman does his voice) well let me tell you this the original Japanese version of DBZ has always had people voice a character of the opposite gender (Goku,Gohan,and Krillen to name a few) so its not really that bad. Freiza's female voice makes him sound more snake-like and evil. So its doesn’t "suck" too bad

3. Death (the next dimension)

This one gets made fun of more than others because the American dubbers will not let the Z team die just pass into an another dimension. Well this one has very detailed explanation. You see most of the Japanese believe in reincarnation (coming back as a cat or a fish or a baby after you die) but Most American don’t believe this. We believe that when you die that’s it, your gone the Japanese can kill off anyone cause they know that they will be back. (Note in the third season of the American dub of DBZ they let people die for the first time.)

4. Blood

In all American DBZ they edit out all blood(except for the third season). I assume they edited out blood to not traumatize kids (also one of the reasons why they edited out death) this is a rare occasion but I think it was stupid to edit out ALL blood. I mean its not like a kid has never cut his/her finger before and seen blood.

5.Diolouge

This also been made fun of a lot because they covered up harsh language (example hell=HFIL home for infinite losers) and vulgar behavior. Well I don’t think they should let them cuss in cause you forgot little kids watch DBZ too, do you want ever kid in America cussing like Vegeta? I don’t think so. Little kids cuss enough, don’t give them an excuses.

6. Spelling and Pronunciation of Names

(Example: Bejita=Vegeta,Kuririn=Krillin,Tarous=Terles,)

This is the most people argue about the most I dont really know the right way to spell or prononce the names but I think the American versions are closer to what the origanal dude wanted.

That’s all for now. Let me end in saying that even though DBZ was for kids in Japan it has to be edited for kids here Because kids here and kids in Japan are very different. Therefore, the cartoons are going to be different too
