The Actual End to the 'Legendary
Super Saiya-Jin' Argument
By Andy S.W
Some of you may have read editorials like
this before (Even some with the same title), some of
you may have not. The argument has pressed on for however
long DBZ has been in America (all of it). Before, any
editorial like this that you may have read would always
boil down to being a "Son Gokou Vs. Broli"
fight. I have always read these editorials and stood
back quietly, yet irritated at the same time. By writing
this editorial, I intend to end this multiple year-long
running debate. And in a way that just about all of
the DBZ fans can understand (note key words: "just
about all").
First off, to be able to reason and come
to a realistic and accurate answer to the question "Who
is the true legendary Super Saiya-Jin?" one must
look at the topic totally objectively. So the mindless
Son Gokou fans and the mindless Broli fans can be ruled
out for carrying a decent argument (note I'm not calling
someone a fan of Son Gokou/Broli mindless, but rather
am talking about the mindless people that are fans of
said characters). Now, first let us list the people
that have, through-out the course of DBZ (DB:GT is not
included), made the leap into the Super Saiya-Jin state
and above. These characters would be (including movies,
not including fusion characters) Son Gokou, Son Gohan,
Goten, Vegeta, Chibi and Mirai no Trunks, and Broli.
Now before people used to bicker over what it takes
to become a Super Saiya-Jin. Such things have been said
that one would (besides BEING a Saiya-Jin) have to have
a 'pure' heart, or a 'pure' soul. This can be ruled
out of the Super Saiya-Jin equation since Vegeta, the
Prince of the Saiya-Jins, was FAR from pure. Having
ruthlessly killed hundreds upon thousands of people,
both innocent and not, and cold-heartedly annihilated
thousands of worlds. Now, people have also said that
insane uncontrolled anger must be let lose, and though
anger is a factor, insane uncontrolled anger is not.
This can be ruled out since we know that when the main
"good" characters turn Super Saiya-Jin they
are neither insane, nor uncontrolled (in a manner of
speaking). So let us establish what really is needed
to become a Super Saiya-Jin having ruled out the unnecessary
myths. One would obviously need to be a Saiya-Jin, as
well as having a strong "Ki", and letting
lose a passionate anger/rage that had not been let lose
before, though not an insane anger.
All right, now that that part of the debate
is over with, let's move onto the Super Saiya-Jin characters.
First, Son Gokou. Let's apply the new requirements for
Super Saiya-Jin to him. He is a Saiya-Jin, he has a
strong "Ki", and when Kurillin was killed
at the hands of Freezer on Namek a passionate rage over-took
Son causing him to make the transformation into Super
Saiya-Jin. That's it, he's the true legendary one! NO!
He is not. Wouldn't it be logical that by calling him
the true legendary Super Saiya-Jin that he would be
that naturally? Of course. This factor I did not mention
before because it was best brought into the discussion
here. Son did not achieve his high power level naturally.
I wouldn't exactly call training in a man-made gravity
room natural. "Well now, if the true legendary
Super Saiya-Jin needs to achieve it naturally, Broli
must be it since he was naturally strong, and he meets
the other criteria" you say? Broli can be ruled
out of the competition for a very simple reason. He
exists in the Dragon Ball Z movies. Not in the anime
NOR the manga. In no way could he have existed anywhere
in the main story line, so he is a myth in himself.
Now then, with those two characters removed, let us
move onto the rest. Vegeta, Son Gohan, Goten, Chibi
Trunks, and Mirai no Trunks ALL are removed because
they all do not meet one of the requirements. Vegeta,
Son Gohan, and Mirai no Trunks do not meet it because
all three did not reach the state of Super Saiya-Jin
naturally. Vegeta trained in the gravity room even harder
than Son Gokou. Son Gohan had had countless power increases
due to being healed by the Senzu Beans so many times,
as did Vegeta, and Son Gohan had to train in the Room
of Spirit and Time (which has stronger gravity than
natural) to reach Super Saiya-Jin. Mirai no Trunks as
well was healed many times either instantly by the Senzu
Beans, or in time in bed, which gave him power increases.
The last two contestants, Goten and Chibi Trunks, can
be argued over for many reasons. Mainly, they are not
pure-bred Saiya-Jins to begin with, their very genetics
are unnatural. They are far from natural Super Saiya-Jins.
But in spite of their lack of meeting the requirements,
Son Gokou, Son Gohan, Goten, Vegeta, Chibi and Mirai
no Trunks ALL at least achieve the state of Super Saiya-Jin.
So they ALL get there though not having met the requirements.
So now that we have all gone over all of this information,
I give to you the True Legendary Super Saiya-Jin. The
True Legendary Super Saiya-Jin is..............(drum
role).............No one! Simple logic dictates that
this 'True Legendary Super Saiya-Jin' does not and can
not exist simply because there are more than one Super
Saiya-Jin. So for those of you that still don't understand,
there is no True Legendary Super Saiya-Jin, I repeat,
there is no True Legendary Super Saiya-Jin. And now
the multiple year long argument is finished.

P.S.-I do not care to argue with anyone on this, logic
dictates us the answer. I will accept conversation with
those that agree with me, however(heh heh).
P.P.S.-You cannot argue that Vegeta talks about what
a Super Saiya-Jin is and what goes into making one since
he himself had never been, seen, or met one before.
So don't try it.
