Title: "Succession"
Format: XviD
Songs: "Holy Roman" by The Get Up
Kids
Length: 2:59
Size: 60 MB
Debuted: 9/22/2006
Notes: This video participated in the AWA
Pro Contest (2006); Nominated for "Best Character
Profile" and "Best Sentimental"

The basic premise for the video
is pretty simple in that Gohan takes on his
proper role as the successor to the title of
Earth's protector. Originally, there was going
to be a lot more of the "relaxing days"
material in the first half of the video, but
it simply couldn't build itself up to the necessary
climax without introducing the full-on Cell
Game right in the first verse. Thankfully, showcasing
things from the past via the instrumental choruses
worked out well, and allowed us to show a wide
variety of times and locations in Gohan's past.
Since the video was very specific to a point
in Gohan's life, though, we chose not to incorporate
things like the Vegeta or Freeza fights.
All in all, it's a Gohan character
profile video with a very melodic and dark song
that still manages to keep a powerful, upbeat,
and optimistic tone to it.

Title: "DOOMRIDER
(DBZ AMV Project)"
Format: XviD
Song: "Sandstorm" by Darude
Length: 9:59
Size: 160 MB
Debuted: 3/1/05
Notes: This is a massive multi-editor AMV
project downloadable via www.animemusicvideos.org
|
Imagine all of the highlights
of DragonBall Z, set to a custom remix of Darude's
"Sandstorm." Further imagine... that...
well... it doesn't suck ^^;;. "DOOMRIDER"
is yet another collaborative anime music video
project, in the same vein as many others. Individual
editors get individual parts of a song, edit
the entire length of their audio, and send their
mini-videos back to the coordinators. The coordinators
then take the pieces and splice it all back
together to form one giant music video.
So what makes this project different?
For one thing, it's an attempt
to make a simply kick-ass DBZ video, start to
finish. Talented editors who enjoy the show
(some of which are already well known for DBZ
music videos and fansites over the last many
years) come together to make a DBZ video that
they enjoy making, and hopefully will unleash
to an audience in desperate need of another
good DBZ video ^_~. The entire length of DBZ's
drama & action (a full 291 episodes) brought
down to a seizure-inducing 8 minutes 52 seconds...
could you really ask for much more?

Title: "Enter
the Dragon"
Format: MPEG
Songs: "Theme from 'Enter the Dragon'"
by B3-PROJECT
Length: 1:36
Size: 26 MB
Debuted: 9/25/04
Notes: This video is Track 11 of the DDR
Project 4: 5th Mix Project. |
This video is the 11th track on
the 4th DDR Project (5th Mix). It premiered
at Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) 10, which took
place in September of 2004. If you are unfamiliar
with these "projects," here's how
it works. There is one giant audio track which
lasts approximately an hour (in this case, anyway).
Individual editors (or teams) are given snippets
of audio (in this case, a certain song) to edit
to. Each song flows into the next song, and
in turn, each video flows into the next video,
creating one long collaborative effort!
We chose Enter the Dragon for
a few reasons. For starters, we just really
wanted to make a fun action video, and this
song allowed us to do so. We also wanted to
make a DragonBall video (specifically with footage
from the 23rd Tenka-ichi Budokai), and it just
seemed to fit very nicely. Contrary to what
you may think (and what the opening may suggest),
this is not a video about Shenlong ^_~

Title: "The
Slugfest Can Can-Version 2"
Format: MPEG
Songs: "Can Can" by Offenbach
Length: 2:05
Size: 32 MB
Debuted: 9/26/03 |
This is a remake of a video I
originally
made in the summer of 2001.
I mainly made this video because
the Piccolo vs. #17 fight is one of my favorites
in DBZ. I just wanted to see the fight set to
music since I'm a total weirdo. So yeah... this
is another "I made this video for my own
enjoyment" kind of things.
Now here's a list of what's different
in this version. First is the obvious use of
DVD-ripped footage as opposed to the VHS-capture
footage used in the original. Next, I used a
lot of cross-dissolves here to make movement
from scene to scene more fluid. I also used
a different version of the "Can Can"
in this version. It's faster, and was louder
than the audio used in original edit of the
video. Finally, the timing as a whole is more
tightly edited.

"All-Purpose
DBZ Music Video"
Format: MPEG
Songs: "Rollin' (Remix)," by Limp
Bizkit; "Don't Touch Me," by Brak; "One
Step Closer," by Linkin Park
Length: 5:22
Size: 47 MB
Completed: 11/21/01 |
How can I describe what this video is about,
hmm...well, to put it simply: this video is parody
of everything that sucks about DBZ music videos,
and all of its stereotypes, all in one package!
It's in the form of a home shopping TV show, so
it has some live action footage, something I've
never done (or seen) before in an anime music
video. Not only that, but it features 3 songs
(to all those who ever asked me to make a Limp
Bizkit video...you asked for it! HA!). To read

"The
Slugfest Can Can- Piccolo vs. #17"
Format: MPEG
Song: "Can Can," by the Aladaile
Orchestra
Length: 2:11
Size: 24 MB
Completed: 7/21/01
|
After making a music video to such a "hard"
and "trendy" song (see below), I decided
that I wanted to do something totally odd, and
use a type of song that isn't normally used for
DBZ videos. Also, since I haven't made a
straight up action video in a long time, I knew
I wanted it to be a fighting video. So,
put an up-beat classical song and my favorite
fight in DBZ, and you get this crazy thang!
I used the Piccolo/#17 fight as the concept of
the video. I'm very pleased with the result.
It's good quality, so don't hesitate to download
the kinda big file. :) Don't got much more
to say than that. It's my silly fight-fight-fight
music video of the moment. For more video info,

"Traces
of Insanity- Trunks Music Video"
Format: MPEG
Song: "Crawling," by Linkin Park
Length: 3:37
Size: 35 MB
Completed: 7/7/01 |
Before I get started with the description, I
recommend that you download the MPEG version of
the video rather than the RealVideo version.
The MPEG looks a *lot* nicer.
I don't wanna spoil what this music video is about
here. :P I'll just say that it's a serious video
about Trunks. To read my long-winded description
of this video, please click

"DBZ
As X-Men: Movie Trailer"
Format: MPEG
Audio: "X-Men" Movie Trailer
Length: 0:34
Size: 4.7 MB
Completed: 6/22/01
Note: This video was made
by both Meri and VegettoEX
|
Ok, so this isn't a music video, but I really
had no idea where to put this. Produced
by me and Mike, this is the audio from
an X-Men movie trailer, with video clips from
DBZ. If I say anything more, it'll give
it away. Let me know what you think of this,
cuz if this gets a good response, we're bound
to make more of these! ^_^ |
Title:
"Ten
Dirty Words"
Format: MPEG
Song: "Family Reunion," by Blink
182
Length: 0:35
Size: 6.6 MB
Completed: 5/18/01 |
This is just sick. And twisted. And...fun!
It's a simple video, with not much of a point,
but I hope you'll be entertained by it in any
case. That's all I can say without giving
anything away. Warning: This
song contains foul language. If watching
it is going to get me in trouble with your parents,
* do not watch it* (or just keep the volume low.)
I really had fun with this video. It's odd,
and different from what I usually do. |
Title:
"He's
So Shy! (Version 2.0)"
Format: MPEG
Song: "He's So Shy," by The Pointer
Sisters
Length: 2:10
Size: 22 MB
Completed: 3/31/01 |
This is another one of those music videos I made
to make DBZ look like a sappy romance series in
which all of the male characters are really silly
romantics at heart. Hey, I at least get credit
for trying right?
In this video, I wanted to show the unsung softer
sides of our manly heroes, and the female characters
that make them that way. It's somewhat in the
vein of my "I Want Someone To Love"
video, but not nearly as sexy. Rather, this one
is entirely more light, and kind of pokes fun
at the characters themselves.
The couples I focues on were Bulma / Yamcha,
Krillin / 18 / Marron, Vegeta / Bulma, and Gohan
/ Videl. It's like a big DB doujinshi or something! |
Title:
"Break
Me (Version 2.0)"
Format: MPEG
Song: "Break Me," by Savage Garden
Length: 3:26
Size: 31 MB
Completed: 2/9/01 |
This is version 2 of a music video I made back
in late 1999. It's my first real character profile
music video. Almost a serious attempt at one,
to boot!
The premise of the video is one that attempts
to make sense of the somewhat disturbed character
of Vegeta. The story shows him abusing his son,
Trunks, being pretty self-destructive, suicidal,
and of course the major pride issues come into
play as well.
My desire to make this video basically stems
from the song itself: Break Me. With this song
in mind, there are basically two jokes that make
up the video: Vegeta "breaking" himself
as he commits suicide against Buu, and at the
end of the video when #18 breaks his arm. Pretty
simple, neh?
In the end, the video deals with Vegeta's psychological
troubles (yes, I personally do like to believe
DBZ is deeper than it really is ^^), and how they
drive him batty! Had the timing and video quality
been better, this would be something I'd be super
duper proud of. But, a remake of this video would
later come... |
Title:
"#17
 vs. Trunks: Past, Present, Future
(Version 3.0)"
Format: MPEG
Song: "Bye Bye Bye," by *NSYNC
Length: 3:21
Size: 53 MB
Completed: 1/13/01 |
Technically speaking, this is a minor achievement
in my early years of editing. I took two versions
of *NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye," the instrumental
and the regular vocal version, and spliced them
together. It was an experiment with audio on my
part, and I think I learned from the process.
I always used to get emails from people asking
"where did you get that version of that song?"
and I took pride in replying "I edited it
myself!". The reason I edited the song in
this way is kinda cheap: I knew a lot of the lyrics
in Bye Bye Bye did not pretain to the video idea
I was trying to convey (which was basically, the
twin Androids against Trunks through multiple
timelines), so I got rid of the romance-breakup
lyrics by putting the instrumental versions of
those lines on top. Cheating, yes, but I must
say it's kinda clever.
I thought, other than the fact that the song
is about a breakup, it could also relate to the
relationship between these three characters. So,
I used it. In an odd way, it kinda works.
As for the video itself, I used to not be able
to get enough of Trunks and those wacky Androids,
so I decided to make a music video about their
recurring battles. It's painfully simple, but
I really enjoying making this video, and the final
product, when I originally made it. |
Title:
"Heart
of Sword (Version 4.0)"
Format: MPEG
Song: "Heart of Sword," by TM Revolution
Length: 3:25
Size: 27 MB
Completed: 11/00 |
Since Trunks is my favorite anime character,
it only seemed right to make a music video for
him. This is the fourth version of my Trunks tribute
music video, "Heart of Sword." As you
might be able to tell from the title, the song
used is "Heart of Sword," by TM Revolution.
It is one of the ending theme songs from Rurouni
Kenshin. Now, I generally dislike using Japanese/anime
songs for my music videos, but the tune is just
so gosh darned catchy, and it fits Trunks so well
that I couldn't resist using it.
This video is bascially the tale of a boy and
his sword. There are also some scenes of other
important fights in Trunks' life, but I tried
to keep the focus on Trunks using his sword. The
video starts off strong, and the middle is ok,
but near the end...I got lazy. I will probably
remake this video *again* someday, when more commercial
DBZ tapes/DVDs become available. But for now,
this is as good as this video is gonna get. There's
action, fighting, and...lotsa Trunks. This is
just another one of my "let's have fun"
DBZ music videos. I hope you like it! |
